Mathematical Contest in Modeling
The Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) is a fun and intense opportunity to use your mathematical skills to solve real-world problems! There are scholarships to win, and your participation in itself is a great resume credential! So have a look at the contest’s webpage for more details, including exact dates for registration and past problems and solutions! And please contact Rosalie Belanger-Rioux (rbr@math.harvard.edu), Assistant to the Director of Undergraduate Studies, if you would like to participate. Rosalie will find your teammates if you need any and make sure teams get registered and funded appropriately. Rosalie can also point you to more resources on mathematical modeling.
P.S: There are similar contests at the high school level as well, and teachers are always happy to get help from undergraduates to coach their students. Once again, contact Rosalie (rbr@math.harvard.edu), for more information on how to get involved with math-inclined high school students in the Cambridge area!
