CMSA Member Seminar: Quantum Cellular Automata and K theory
CMSA MEMBER SEMINAR
When: October 9, 2026
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Where: CMSA, 20 Garden St, Common Room
Address:
20 Garden Street, Cambridge 02138, United States
Speaker: Bowen Yang (Harvard)
I’ll explain a new class of Omega spectrum originating from the study of locality preserving quantum dynamics. Using it, I’ll explain the so-called “open cone principle” which bridges lattice models at thermodynamic limits with continuous field theory. As an application, I’ll explain how certain cohomology classes called anomalies are realized as obstruction classes.
Lunch will be provided.
