Hecke Eigensheaves for Arthur Parameters
SEMINARS: NUMBER THEORY
When: November 13, 2024
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Where: Science Center 507
Address:
1 Oxford Street, Cambridge, MA 02138, United States
Speaker: Alexander Bertoloni Meli (Boston University)
I will talk about work relating to categorical Langlands for non-archimedean local fields. In particular, I will discuss progress with Teruhisa Koshikawa on defining the Galois-side incarnation of a Hecke eigensheaf attached to an Arthur parameter. We will focus primarily on the PGL2 case where everything can be understood explicitly.
Pre-talk title: Unipotent Conjugacy Classes of Reductive Groups
Pre-talk abstract: I will discuss the proof using weighted Dynkin diagrams that there are finitely many unipotent conjugacy classes of a reductive group over an algebraically closed field. I will give an overview of Bala-Carter theory and mention a recent result with Koshikawa and Leake on a new characterization of distinguished unipotent conjugacy classes.
