CMSA Member Seminar: Modularity and Fibrations in Mirror Symmetry
CMSA MEMBER SEMINAR, CMSA EVENTS
Speaker:
Chuck Doran - Bard College, University of Alberta, and Harvard CMSA
We will introduce appearances of modularity in the study both of families of Calabi-Yau threefolds and of their enumerative invariants. An important role is played by the structure of fibrations and the DHT fibration-degeneration mirror correspondence, which clarifies how these notions of modularity are (and are not) related. This is joint work with Boris Pioline and Thorsten Schimannek.
Friday, March 22nd at 12pm, with lunch, lounge at CMSA (20 Garden Street).
