Benedict Gross Receives 2021 Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award
Harvard Emeritus Professor Benedict Gross and Don Zagier of the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics have jointly received the 2021 Fudan-Zhonzhi Science Award for their formulation and proof of the Gross-Zagier formula, an important theorem and breakthrough in the field of number theory.
The Fudan-Zhonzhi Science Award aims to promote global scientific research, and advance science and technology. The 2021 Award is the second given in the field of mathematics, the recipients will share a RMB 3 million (around $450,000) prize.
