Summit on PhD Math Education in the Age of AI

On September 17–18, 2026 a group of 24 mathematicians met at Harvard to grapple with the changing landscape for mathematics PhD programs in the age of AI. We produced recommendations given in the report below. We hope they serve as a starting point for discussions in each department about how to evolve their program.
