A Legacy of Mathematics, a Future of Discovery at Harvard

We are please to present this short film about mathematics at Harvard! The film was created as part of ICM TV for the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2026 held in Philadelphia, PA this July. Combining films like this with interviews and features from the meeting itself, ICM TV captures the very best of the work done in mathematics today, the impact it has, and the community behind it.

New mathematics emerges through sustained inquiry, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. It develops over time—through seminars, workshops, and ongoing discussion—often at the intersection of different areas of mathematics and science. At the Harvard Department of Mathematics and the Harvard Center of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (CMSA), this process is supported by an environment that emphasizes both depth and interaction.

Watch this and other videos via the ICM TV 2026 playlist, which will be updated with new content throughout the conference.
