• Bombay Club (57 JFK St) — repeated good experiences. Particular note: Sunday brunch
• Cafe of India (52A Brattle St) — my favorite lunch buffet in the square.

Other Asian

• (Thai) Spice (24 Holyoke St) — reasonable food and price.
• (Thai) 9 Tastes (50 JFK St) — good lunch menu.
• (Vietnamese) Le's (36 JFK St) — great soups, also good curry.
• (Korean/Japanese) Shilla (57 JFK St) — interesting Kimchi soup; spicy; haven't tried the sushi.

Mexican & Tex-mex

• Felipe's Mexican Taqueria (83 Mt. Auburn) -- tasty, cheap burritos; great for takeout but a bit loud to sit down.
• Border Cafe (32 Church St) — reasonable food.

Coffee Shops

• Burdicks (52-D Brattle Street) — great chocolate, cakes and hot chocolate; very busy and not enough tables to sit down at.
• Algiers Cafe & Restaurant (40 Brattle Street) — also serves food.

Don't Try

• (Falafel) Sabra Grill (20 Eliot St., Harvard Square)
• (Falafel) Moody's Falafel Place (25 Central Square)
• (Korean) Seoul Food (1759 Mass. Ave.)
• (Fancy) Harvest (44 Brattle St) — No vegetarian food; expensive.
