Frequently asked questions

Send questions of potential general interest to maths21a@fas.harvard.edu.
Question: Do we need to buy the book? If yes, which edition? Answer: We do not require you to buy a book. But all editions of Stewarts multivariable calculus will work. The lectures with handouts and homework handouts give you all you will need. But it is good to read a book beside. Stewarts book is a decent book, is pretty reliable due to its wide use and contains additional homework problems. In general, we encourage to get exposed to the material in different ways. By seeing the lectures in person, by doing the homework, by discussing with fellow students the CA or the instructor, by reading, doing quizes, exams or online activities.
